Listing is for a Model 1909 Mauser Modelo Argentino made in 1911 in Berlin for the Argentina Military. This rifle is a modified version of the German Gew 98 design, which was adopted by Argentina in 1909 to replace the Model 1891 rifles and carbines. It is a rare and sought-after collector's item, especially when found in "as issued" condition.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into a ramped post. The rear sight is an adjustable ladder sight numbered 3 to 19.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The matching numbered stock is in a 2-piece wood configuration featuring a straight comb, steel buttplate, semi pistol grip, smooth forend, 2 sling mounts 1 in the belly of the buttstock and 1 in the bottom of the forend. The LOP is 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Stock is shows normal use wear being in service in 1911, nice patina, oil rubbed finish, No cracks. The stock rates in Good to Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is darkened and the rifling is sharp. There is light erosion/pitting in the grooves of the barrel.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish and is numbers matching on the parts I can see except for the cleaning rod. The balance of the finish shows handling and operational wear, with thinning on the edges and contact points. There are scattered dings, scratches, marks, and has a good oil rubbed patina. The screw heads are lightly worn but serviceable. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
